Clay Stauffer Clarence Roy Stauffer III was born July 28, 1980 in Memphis, TN. He is the fourth generation of Disciples ministers in the Stauffer family, and named after his great grandfather who was Pastor of the First Christian Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Clay earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Sociology from Texas Christian University in 2002, and his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2005. While at TCU, he was President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, served on the TCU House of Representatives, and the Interfraternity Council. He was also Chief Justice of the IFC/PHC Judicial Board for the entire Greek Community. While at Princeton Theological Seminary, Clay served as Minister for College and Young Adults at the renowned Riverside Church in New York City. During the summer of 2004 he served a Pastoral Internship at Christ Church in Lausanne, Switzerland, preaching every week to the English speaking Anglican congregation. Clay was ordained into full time Christian ministry at Lindenwood Christian Church on May 22, 2005. He served as the Associate Minister for Evangelism, New Members, and Young Adults at Lindenwood from 2005-2007 working with his father who was then senior minister. In addition to his ministry, he has been an up and coming speaker on the college circuit and has made numerous appearances at Greek leadership summits, teacher trainings, RUSH gatherings, and corporate events in various parts of the country. His speaking topics include (but are not limited to) the Power of Leadership, Restoring Faith In the Clergy, Faith and Reason, Ethical Decision Making, the Paradox of Happiness, Living Life Now, Invisible Baggage, Keys to Greek Life, Why We RUSH, and Simplifying Your Life. Clay is dedicated to inner city ministry and during his time in Memphis, he served as Chaplain for the Phoenix Club of Memphis, an organization of young professionals that raises money for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Memphis. On October 21st, 2007, Clay was installed as the Senior Minister of Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville, TN. He is now the sixth and youngest senior minister to ever serve Woodmont, a congregation of over 1000 members that was founded in 1943. Woodmont is located in the heart of Green Hills and is a growing and thriving congregation dedicated to mission and outreach. Among his many responsibilities, Clay preaches every Sunday, oversees the staff, and counsels on a regular basis. In his spare time, Clay enjoys fly fishing, golfing, skiing, playing basketball, watching college football, hearing live music, and traveling both nationally and internationally.
